But the revival was TOO late for some Hammers fans who had left the stadium early – and were stopped from coming back in.
Leeds were up by two after Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the back of the net.
Some Irons fans had already lost all hope and chose to leave London Stadium instead of seeing out the game.
But the tides changed in stoppage time with Mateus Fernandes and Axel Disasi scoring to take the tie to extra time.
To add to the tension, West Ham had two goals ruled out for offside late on.
But unable to find a winner in extra-time, the Premier League sides were tested with a penalty shootout.
As Hammers fans scrambled to make it back to their stands, they were refused entry.
Their only option was to gather round and watch the deciding moments on FACETIME using a fan’s phone.

But it was not meant to be for the home fans after Jarrod Bowen and Pablo had their penalties saved.
The FA Cup quarter-final brought everything needed for a dramatic tie with Danny Dyer cheering from the stands.
Police had even intervened to decide which end a penalty shootout would take place.
Leeds will now advance to face eight-time winners Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on April 25 or 26.
It will be Leeds’ first time in 39 years that they have made it this far.
And fans will be hoping to replicate their victory in 1972 when they beat holders Arsenal 1-0 at Wembley.
Meanwhile, Southampton will face seven-time winners Man City on the same weekend after their shock win over league leaders Arsenal.
