Watch Sean Longstaff’s worldie as he helps fire Whites through in FA Cup

LEEDS remain in the hunt for FA Cup glory after dumping out Norwich City.

The Premier League outfit avoided any sort of fifth round upset – unlike fellow top flight rivals Fulham and Sunderland – as they got the job done in the first half at Elland Road.

Philippe Clement has made an impact since joining the Canaries in the second tier, but he couldn’t find that magic touch to produce an upset.

Daniel Farke’s men thought they had the lead just before the 20 minute mark but Lukas Nmecha’s effort was ruled out by VAR after it spotted a handball in the build-up.

But just over 10 minutes later they grabbed the opener and there was no doubt at all over it after a stunner from Sean Longstaff.

It was a classy touch, turn and finish from the midfielder as he fired his effort beyond Daniel Grimshaw in the visiting goal.

11 minutes later, it was two.

Gabriel Gudmundsson reacted quickest in the box to a loose ball and slammed home to spark celebrations in the stands and on the park.

With five minutes left on the clock, they put the tie out of sight as Joel Piroe curled the ball home superbly as Leeds turned defence into attack in quick time.

Leeds had further chances to increase the gap further, while the visitors had an opportunity for a consolation but neither could convert.

Victory means Leeds are now in the hat for the quarter-final draw as they take another step towards FA Cup glory.

Focus will now naturally shift back to the Premier League survival fight with Crystal Palace next on the agenda.

For Norwich and Clement, it is back to Championship duty on Wednesday night at Carrow Road against Sheffield United before another home game next weekend against Preston.
