Wayne Rooney agreed and also offered his view of Real Madrid.

His statement came as part of an Amazon Prime quickfire question to pundits on Champions League duty.

Manchester United and England hero Wayne Rooney and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer were also put on the spot.

But it the comment of Walcott that was eye catching stating that Los Blancos would finish EIGHTH in the league.

To put it into the context, that is the position the Seagulls claimed last season in the final league standings.

“But I do feel there are teams that are more equipped in the Premier League, and I don’t think Real Madrid would be one of those teams,”

Rooney and Shearer put the current La Liga leaders into the top four.

Shearer stated: “They may struggle for consistency but when you look at the quality they have, particularly in forward positions, they would outscore most teams.

“I’m sure they’d concede a few, but top four for me. I don’t think they’d win it, though.”

Rooney added: “Certainly in the top four. Some of the away games would be a lot more difficult than what they face over the calendar year in Spain.”
