The Traitors winner reveals off-screen way bosses manage meltdowns ‘24/7’ that sees players step out the game every DAY

THE Traitors isn’t for the faint-hearted, with tearful meltdowns, angry outbursts and the heavy weight of deception par for the course.

But, fortunately for the players, there is an unseen way they can ease the psychological burden of the murder mystery game.

Series three winner Jake Brown, 29, exclusively told The Sun that help is at hand 24/7.

“They’ve got an amazing welfare support system,” he said, speaking on behalf of BetWright Casino

“There’s a massive team who you can literally go to 24/7 with any issues so you’ve always got someone to speak to.

“Obviously the game is so intense and you are so immersed in the game, I think it’s very helpful that if you need to switch off once the day is finished, you need to speak to someone, then someone’s there.”

He continued: “They’ve got a great team of support and they do run around the clock and there’s always regular check-ins as well, daily check-ins, to make sure that you’re okay and your well-being, and that you as a person are coping well, so it’s all good there.”

The series four finale is just days away and the tension is really ramping up.

Already two formidable players have let their emotions get the better of them, contributing to their own demises.

Fiona’s out-of-the-blue attack on fellow Traitor Rachel immediately put suspicion at her door.

After third Traitor Stephen paid a pivotal role in her banishment at the roundtable, he couldn’t stop crying.

Faithful Reece crumbled after days spent in the firing line, before being subject to a mercy killing to spare him any more anguish.

Then, no-nonsense author and former barrister Harriet let her determination to reveal Rachel as a Traitor overflow into rudeness towards her fellow Faithfuls, which turned some of them against her.

More recently, a real world tragedy crept into the show during a dinner party that saw the remaining players discuss how they’d spend the winnings.

PhD student Jade opened up about the tragic deaths of her mum and half sister, who died in a murder-suicide in Hong Kong in 2018.

While Jake, whose celeb fans include rapper AJ Tracey and Corrie legend Julie Hesmondhalgh, believes Rachel and Stephen could make history by becoming the first Traitors double act to win, he is full of praise for their peers.

And he’s poured cold water on viewer accusations some players are only on the show to find fame rather than engage with the game.

He said: “I feel like this series the cast has been even more passionate than ever and played the game even more.

“Early on in the game people were throwing accusations out. I mean people weren’t thinking, ‘Oh, I need to play it safe so I can stay in the game longer.’ People were going for it and really trying to find the Traitors if they were Faithful, and as we’ve heard, the Traitors have played some risky gameplay.

“I mean they’ve murdered Jessie, so that’s risky play because obviously she was onto Stephen. I mean Rachel’s had some comments at the round table. She mentioned to Ross about the Hugo dramatic in the turret. That’s quite a bold statement as a Traitor.

“Anything that’s out there. If you’re outspoken as a Traitor that can go against you.”

Jake said the spotlight on his life after the show took a bit of getting used to, but he was determined to focus on the positives.

He continues to play football for the England men’s cerebral palsy team and is thankful the BBC gave him a platform to raise awareness of unseen disabilities.

“There’s not enough representation on TV for disabled people, especially mine being a hidden disability,” he said. “I’m giving people a voice.

“I’ve had so many amazing messages to be like, ‘I feel heard’ and that’s been really nice and touched my heart.

“I think the Traitors do a very good job of that. They have a very good representation, very diverse.”
