Designed by artist Ffion Rees, it features the band members – Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner – in silhouetted poses and their autographs.

There are five different packaging designs for each group member – with each design limited to 15,000 coins worldwide.

The band said: “We could never have imagined that we would be recognised in this way – the first female group to be given their very own coin… what a moment for girl power.”

Last month it was revealed that plans for a Netflix Spice Girls drama have been shelved amid tensions in the group.

The project to mark the band’s 30th anniversary was hampered by difficulties bringing the five members together.

Insiders say Geri has been dragging her heels, amid tensions between her and Mel B.

Scary Spice was notably absent from Emma Bunton’s 50th birthday party last month, with Geri, Mel C and Victoria all there.

An insider said: “Their fans will be devastated. The drama has been in development for years but producers wanted to work in unison with the band. It just hasn’t got to the point where  the streamer has felt able to commission it.

“It doesn’t mean it won’t happen at some point in the future, but a big drive behind making the show was that it aired to celebrate the landmark anniversary.

“Now all hopes of that happening have been snuffed out.”
