Masked Singer contestant Ben Shephard had to master his poker face during recent stints on This Morning ahead of his big reveal.
The presenter, who was secretly behind the Conkers mask, has admitted it felt “bizarre” interviewing unmasked contestants while still competing himself.
The 50-year-old said it was particularly awkward quizzing show panellist Davina McCall, who had no idea he was still in the competition.
Ben laughed that it felt “under-hand” grilling the celebrities on This Morning while knowing first-hand what it was really like inside the costume.
He explained: “As a rule, I think I’m pretty straight down the line and the fact I got to do something so under-hand.
“Davina was talking to me in the most minute detail about what happens when you’re a contestant on the show. I was asking her loads of questions.”

He added: “The bizarre thing is, I have been interviewing all the unmasked celebrities on This Morning.
“They have no idea I’m on the show and still in it! It’s an isolating experience going on this show as you can’t tell anyone.
“I can’t wait to be able to talk to everyone about it.”
After their big reveals, Ben interviewed the likes of Ben Fogle, Marvin Humes and John Lydon on the daytime programme.
Ben’s reveal delivered one of the biggest shocks of the series, with host Joel Dommett even collapsing to the floor in disbelief.
In a further twist, Ben had already appeared earlier in the run as a guest judge during the Halloween special all while secretly competing.
The star said he was especially excited to tell his grown-up sons and give them endless material to tease him with.
“They will be thrilled to bits. How much ammunition have I given them for the rest of their lives?”
Ben is dad to two sons, Sam, 20, and Jack, 19, with wife Annie Shephard, and the couple have been married since 2004.
He also revealed that co-presenter Cat Deeley’s children “love the show”.
Cat Deeley is mum to two sons, Milo, nine, and James, seven, with estranged husband Patrick Kielty, and the pair are now co-parenting following their split.
Fans were finally put out of their misery as the finalists’ identities were revealed last night.
Toastie was unveiled as soul star Mica Paris, while winner Moth turned out to be Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan.
After reaching the final, Conkers came in second place – but definitely caused the biggest uproar when the reveal came.
