A WOMAN has revealed her striking before and after “wrinkle” photos, which she claims are the result of using a £2.99 product instead of Botox.
The beauty lover said she banished fine lines on her forehead without a single injection.
TikTok user @face.bbos wrote: “My forehead is smoother than ever and I did none of injection – just taping and massage.”
She told her 173,000 followers how she swears by cotton kinesiology tape -and particularly loved the Kactive brand.
You can pick up kinesiology tape for as little as £2.99 – which is definitely cheaper than the average cost of Botox, which can cost between £150 and £350 per session.
Part of the reason for wanting to use the tape, she explained, was being terrified of needles and not wanting to “freeze” her expressions.

My hands looked older than my face… a £3.65-a-week solution removed the wrinkles
Her daily routine includes massaging her face, then applying “correct skincare”, and then taping after 20 to 30 minutes.
She claimed that the tape helps to “control” her muscles, in a similar way to Botox.
The beauty lover previously shared: “It wasn’t quick, but with patience and consistency my skin really transformed.
“A natural alternative that worked for me.
“At the beginning I did massage and taping every night/day after one week I saw first small results but my wrinkles were deep and mimic very active so it took me a while till my forehead was perfectly smooth.
“It didn’t bother me because it takes just two minutes in the evening and then I just sleep and wait till it works. Now I still tape my face but 1-2 times a week or month.”
The results weren’t overnight, but she said she did see a difference after consistent use for a year.
She added: “I share this to prove Botox isn’t the only option.”
Kinesiology tape is often waterproof and sweat-resistant, which allows a strong and lasting adhesion to the skin.
Not only can it be used to support and relieve pain in muscles or joints but can also improve “blood flow under the skin.”
However, there have been varying reports on whether tape is effective against wrinkles.
Dr. Jennifer Ashton told ABC News: “Very superficially and very temporarily, it can smooth out those superficial wrinkles.
“It depends on the age of the person, how much sun damage there is, how much elasticity or collagen there is in their skin, how much volume they’ve lost with age.
“All of those things can contribute to the appearance of wrinkles.
“It’s possible that when you remove the tape, those wrinkles can re-form in minutes to hours.”
However, many people seemed to agree about the benefits in the video comments, with one saying: “Taping helps! You wouldn’t believe how much we frown while we sleep. As always, consistency is key.”
But one said: “I’m not going through all of this, I’m a Botox girl.”
Botox has become a popular injectable amongst beauty fans as it temporarily reduces or eliminates fine lines and wrinkles.
The injection – which is commonly used to treat crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead creases – has seen a 124 per cent increase from the previous year for Botox treatments in the UK.
How much does Botox cost?
BOTOX and anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments available today.
Botox injections work by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves.
The effects last about three to twelve months, depending on what you are treating.
The NHS website estimates each botulinum toxin injection costs £150-£350 per session.
The price varies depending on how much is used per session, they add.
Botox prices fluctuate depending on where you go to get it done and the number of areas treated.
Some companies offer one area for around the £200 mark, and most offer packages if you want to add more areas to your treatment.
It is worth doing your research before you undergo the treatment – and remember that going ‘cheap’ isn’t always a good idea.
