TESCO has urgently recalled a Valentine’s Day gift amid fears it could leave shoppers with painful burns.
Customers are being told to “stop using it immediately” amid warnings the product poses a serious scalding risk.
The recall affects the F&F Home Valentine’s ‘You’ll Do’ XL Mug, a popular gift item sold in the run-up to February 14.
The black mug features white “you’ll do” text with a red heart and was marketed as a tongue-in-cheek Valentine’s present.
But safety bosses say the cup could fracture when boiling water is poured inside, causing hot liquid to leak on to the user.
In an official alert, it warned: “The product presents a risk of burns as it is possible for the mug to crack when boiling water is poured into it, leaking hot liquid onto the user.”
