SNL makes foul joke about Trump’s interaction with kids after White House Halloween gaffe

Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost has been blasted online for mocking Donald Trump’s White House Halloween party.

The president was joined by his wife, Melania, to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters on Thursday, and pleased fans when he recreated his viral chocolate bar prank from 2019.

However, the Weekend Update co-anchor made a sinister insinuation about Trump and the First Lady’s grand entrance into the event.

‘My favorite part, though, was when Trump and Melania made a grand entrance to this song, Michael Jackson’s Thriller,’ Jost said.

‘Just the perfect soundtrack to lure kids to a famous mansion,’ referring to Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, where he was accused of sexually abusing children.

Jackson always maintained his innocence and was acquitted of sexual abuse charges in 2005.

Jost also joked about the hilarious moment Trump placed a candy bar on a child’s head at the event.

‘President Trump and the First Lady hosted a trick or treat event at what’s left of the White House,’ he said, echoing the show’s earlier skit making fun of the president’s ballroom construction.

Thriller by Michael Jackson played as the president and his wife, Melania, walked out to the South Lawn to hand out candy on Thursday

‘This is one of my favorite things that the president does because it is so clear that he never trick-or-treated once in his life.’

The comedian then played a video from this year of Trump playfully welcoming a child dressed as DJ Marshmello before placing a chocolate bar on his head.

It was the same trick from Trump’s first term six years ago when he placed a piece of candy on top of a kid dressed as a Minion from the hit movie, Despicable Me.

‘Just put it in the bag! Why is he so weird? Even the kids is like, “This is not right,”‘ Jost said.

‘It’s kind of an embodiment of his entire presidency, just a violation of norms that no other president or person has ever conceived of. Like who’s ever thought: “I should just put the candy on the kid’s head.”‘

On social media, viewers found Jost’s rant to be distasteful and slammed the Weekend Update co-anchor for spending so much time on it.

‘Only #ColinJost would spend close to three minutes on #WeekendUpdate critiquing Trump’s trick or treating technique. No offense to my homeboy, but I think I’ve been more savage on Twitter than he is with his platform on NBC. Bro, that’s it?’ one person said

‘Colin Jost proving once again that lazy shock humor is the only thing keeping SNL alive,’ added another.

Jost also joked about Trump recreating his viral Halloween moment from 2019, claiming ‘Why is he so weird’

The prank mirrored a stunt Trump pulled in 2019 when he placed a chocolate bar on top of a trick-or-treater dressed as a Minion from the movie Despicable Me in 2019 (pictured)

‘The joke wasn’t edgy, just awkward and cringe. They haven’t been funny in years, and this was more proof the show’s running on fumes.’

A third person said, ‘Well, if even the SNL crowd that wants to see Trump hanged and burned, groaned to a joke, it wouldn’t have been a very good joke.

‘But again, Colin Jost and Michael Che are not the best comedians around. How the f this guy is married to the goddess Scarlet Johansson, I cannot fathom.’

A few people came to Jost’s defense, claiming they thought the joke was funny and pointed out that the studio audience also laughed at it.

‘Colin showed the White House trick-or-treat, observing that playing a Michael Jackson song for children coming to a mansion may not be the best look. It actually was funny, as was the audience groan,’ one person said.
