NETFLIX is set to quietly vanish from millions of devices around the world this week.

Customers have just hours to stream content before Netflix disappears forever from the platform.

Users began seeing a warning message about the end of Netflix on the PS3 and shared it online.

It read: “Unfortunately, Netflix will no longer be available on this device after March 2, 2026. Visit netflix.com/compatible devices to see a list of supported devices.”

People took to X, formerly Twitter to express their annoyance at the decision, while others expressed disbelief Netflix was still available on the PS3.

Another person commented: “They’re taking Netflix off PS3? What’s next?? The PS5???”

A third posted: “Netflix will no longer work on a PS3 or older smart tvs (about a decade old). Basically, devices that are not spyware and where Netflix can’t jam the screen with ads. No loss here and my older tv is such a better experience than the ads everywhere ‘smart’ stuff.”

And a fourth wrote: “I know a few people who use their PS3 as a media streamer but don’t even play games on anymore. I’ve also used this way for a few years. It’s really good and relaxing to play music with the in built graphic interface. Love it! Shame on Netflix, well my sub will stop.

Along with the PS3, a number of older smart TV and streaming boxes more than 10 years old will also be affected.

While the PS3 might be outdated, Playstation is getting ready to launch its first car.

Japanese gaming giant has joined forces with car maker Honda to launch Afeela 1, which is due to hit roads soon.

Gamers will be able to access their favourite titles using PlayStation Remote Play, Sony‘s game streaming platform, which connects to flash screens on the back of the front seats for rear passengers to enjoy.

All it needs is a decent data connection and a DualSense controller to get started.
