MANCHESTER UNITED manager Michael Carrick was left fuming after Newcastle midfielder Joelinton escaped a certain second yellow card.
The Toon managed to secure a sensational 2-1 win with a stunning Will Osula goal in the dying embers of the game stealing the victory for 10-man Newcastle.
Jacob Ramsey saw a second yellow card for simulation right at the end of the first-half after the referee deemed he dived when going around United goalkeeper, Senne Lammens.
But a few minutes earlier it was the heartbeat of Newcastle’s midfield that should have been given his marching orders.
Joelinton was caught sarcastically applauding one of referee Peter Bankes’ decisions and that is an automatic yellow card in the Premier League.
The Brazilian had already been booked and would have taken the Magpies down to 10-men even earlier.

Carrick had a face like thunder on the sideline as he watched his United side fall to 10 men in his birthplace.
The interim boss remonstrated with the fourth official, insisting that Joelinton should walk for his gesture but the referee failed to act.
Bankes had his head in his notebook & VAR cannot intervene for bookings, so the 29-year-old caught a lucky break.
But not so lucky for Carrick; Joelinton went on to win TNT Sport’s Man of the Match award after covering every blade of grass around St James’ Park.

Another commented: “Joelinton should have walked for the clapping that is usually a yellow. Then the red card itself was soft. Dreadful officiating.”
A third posted: “Pathetic performance Worst refereeing performance I have ever witnessed. Burn deliberate elbow and Joelinton clapping should’ve been 3 red cards.”
