MAFS Australia fans beg groom to ‘run away’ from ‘walking red flag’ bride after dramatic wedding

FANS of Married At First Sight Australia are warning groom David Momoh to “run” from his bride Alissa Fay after their drama-filled wedding.

The dating show from Down Under has officially landed in the UK, with the first episode airing last night and following David and Alissa as they met and married.

Upon meeting David at the altar, Alissa made an unprecedented move as she told David she could not marry him unless he got down on one knee and proposed.

She made her groom squirm with a lengthy gap between saying “I don’t think I can marry you” and “not until you get on one knee and propose to me first”.

The pair were locked in an awkward interaction for a whopping 15 minutes as Alissa demanded reluctant David to get down on his knee.

But eventually, David caved and proposed to Alissa at the altar.

However, he did say afterwards that the awkward moment during their wedding was a “red flag”.

And fans seem to agree, with many even warning David to “run” from his new wife Alissa.

“WALKING RED FLAG,” wrote one user underneath an E4 video of the moment.

“Run for your life David,” said another.

A third predicted: “Alissa and David will be butting heads throughout their marriage.”

Later in the episode, Alissa continuously referred to her new husband as “daddy”, something which made viewers squirm.

One viewer tweeted: “Alissa, please stop referring to your new husband as being ‘daddy’, it’s cringy af”

Another said they were “getting the ick” from the behaviour.

However, some Australian viewers – who are further ahead in the series – said that Alissa actually becomes more likeably as the series goes on.

“She actually turns out to be one of the lovely ones,” defended a fan.
