Loose Women’s Kaye Adams won’t return to BBC radio show after 3 misconduct claims including ‘throwing pen’ are upheld

LOOSE Women star Kaye Adams will not return to her £155,000-a-year BBC radio show after being accused of bullying colleagues.

The 63-year-old had been suspended from her morning programme on BBC Scotland with three misconduct complaints now being upheld against her.

Multiple complaints made against Adams were upheld during an internal BBC investigation, The Times reports.

The complaints saw the long-standing broadcaster accused of using an abhorrent swear word at a colleague which reportedly happened more than a decade ago.

In another incident, she is said to have thrown a pen at a producer in frustration over an upcoming show.

Adams also berated an intern’s ability to do their job, according to reports on her suspension.

Co-workers say they were left feeling humiliated and distressed with one even not showing up to work the next day.

Other allegations against the TV personality found to not be substantiated.

Adams has denied any wrongdoing.

She suggested her “assertiveness” could have been mistaken for bullying.

Despite this a source said: “There is no way back for Kaye now.

“Her time at BBC Scotland is at an end.”

Adams had hosted the daily phone-in programme titled Call Kaye between 2010 and 2015 for the BBC in Scotland.

She went on to front both The Kaye Adams Show and Mornings with Kaye Adams in recent years.

She was officially suspended in October and hasn’t been on air since.

A BBC Scotland spokesman declined to comment on the individual case.

They did offer a glimpse into the immediate future of the radio programmes’ morning schedule now without Adams.

The spokesman said: “With regard to the presentation line-up on Mornings With, Kaye Adams will not be returning to this role.

“In the immediate future, Connie McLaughlin will continue to present Mornings With on Mondays to Wednesdays, with Stephen Jardine presenting on Thursdays and Fridays.”

Insiders claim Victoria Easton Riley, Radio Scotland’s head of audio and events, raised concerns of Adams’ alleged behaviour last year.

Her conduct during a routine meeting at BBC Scotland’s headquarters at Pacific Quay, Glasgow, prompted an investigation, the source said.

Adams has denied having any issues at that meeting with Ms Riley.

She told the Daily Mail she was “blindsided” when first learning of the allegations against her.

“I can’t even describe it, it just feels like layers of my skin have been torn off, to be honest,” she said.

“I certainly never saw this one coming.”

BBC Scotland has stepped in and temporarily suspended Adams in the past.

In 2011, she tweeted at then mayor of London Boris Johnson: “P*** off back to boarding school.”

ITV has stood by Adams, confirming last year that her role on Loose Women will remain unchanged despite what has happened to her show with the BBC.
