Jurgen Klopp returns to Liverpool for emotional 2-2 Legends draw as 60,000 fans roar for famous fist-pump celebration

JURGEN KLOPP was back in the Liverpool dugout as the former title-winning Reds boss took charge of a legends charity clash.

The Kop outfit faced another of Klopp’s former clubs, drawing 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund, where the German spent seven years in charge before moving to Merseyside for nine seasons.

Thiago, who made 98 appearances under Klopp for Liverpool, and Jay Spearing put the hosts ahead, before Dortmund scored two second-half goals through Mohamed Zidan and Jan Koller.

Spanish midfielder Thiago won player of the match and lined up alongside some stellar names, including Steven Gerrard, Sami Hyypia, Jerzy Dudek and Peter Crouch.

Dortmund’s side featured a number of Klopp’s former players, as well as ex-Norwich and Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert.

Klopp said: “I always loved it. Being back, nothing has changed.

“I really enjoyed every second — my role was definitely not to have a lot of words.

“I was here for the LFC Foundation and to be part of a really special experience.

“For me, it was a very special experience after a long time.

“Being around, being that close, seeing all the Liverpool lads and then seeing the Dortmund lads as well, because that was like 80 per cent of my players.

“You don’t meet very often and have them all together in one room. It’s really cool.

“It was really, really nice and the people suck it in. It’s just so nice to see all the boys playing — but Thiago alone was worth the ticket!”

Klopp, managing alongside Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush and John Aldridge, also treated the sold-out crowd of 60,482 to his famous fist-pumping celebration.
