From the driveway, nothing about the former council house looks out of place other than a slightly unkempt front garden.

Make your way inside and you’ll find it has a perfectly pleasant entrance hall, lounge, dining room and kitchen.

Many of the rooms are stacked with boxes and junk with the back garden, featuring an outdoors toilet, also overgrown.

It’s on the ground floor that you’ll find the first hint at the current owner’s enthusiasm for a honey-loving kids book character.

Six small cuddly toys of Winnie the Pooh lay on the sideboard and chest of drawers with one perched on the TV in the dining room.

In another room, a handful can be spotted on a cardboard box.

However, move upstairs, open one of the bedroom doors and you’ll find dozens of Pooh Bears looking back at you.

There are over 50 tucked away in an alcove in the corner while another 30 plus are piled up on the bed.

One giant teddy sits happily as Pooh Bears of all shapes and sizes spill onto the floor.

Fortunately, the army of soft toys are confined to just one of the three bedrooms.

The home is set to go under the hammer with Robinson & Hall Auctions on April 22 with £175,000 being the guide price.

It reads: “Nicely located within the village, well set back from the road and benefiting from a long west-facing rear garden, this three-bedroom semi-detached house requires refurbishment.

“This mid-twentieth century ex-local authority semi-detached house has most of the original fixtures and fittings and now offers an excellent opportunity to refurbish and improve.

“The house is set back from the road with a long driveway, and at the side of the house is a brick outbuilding which houses a WC and coal store.

“At the rear is a long garden with trees along the rear boundary.”

There is no mention of the Winnie the Pooh in the property listing.
