The incident happened after Sellier fell on the ice behind an American skater.

As she fell her opponent in front raised a skate and the back of the blade made contact with Sellier’s face.

It cut open a wound on her face and immediately drew blood.

Sellier then skidded across the ice and ended up crashing into the wall of the rink.

Medics rushed to assist and managed to stabilise the 25-year-old.

But blood gushed from her face and medics held upa big sheet to protect her privacy.

Sellier was quickly fastened into a stretcher and escorted away.

She was then rushed to hospital where she will undergo X-rays.

Reports claim she was conscious throughout the crash, though she took damage to her cheekbone – centimetres below her left eye.
