A BRIT who plunged to his death from a Costa del Sol hotel balcony has been identified as a dad grieving the loss of his baby daughter.
Robert Davidson, 37, took his own life the four-star Sandos Griego Hotel, in the popular resort of Torremolinos.
He had been on holiday with fiancée Daniella Robb, 27, and her two children.
She was asleep when her partner plummeted to his death from the balcony of their sixth-floor room, just before midnight on Tuesday.
Robert took his life mere hours before the first anniversary of the death of the couple’s daughter Hollie, who died at just seven-weeks-old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
In a heartbreaking tribute, distraught partner Daniella said that she felt like her insides had been ripped out, describing herself as “lost” without Robert.

She wrote: “I hope you’ll always know how much I love you Robert.
“I’m so lost without you and miss you more than words can describe.
“My heart is screaming for you and I feel like my insides have been ripped from me all over again.
“I know there was nothing I could have done to fix how you felt, but I just hope you’re at peace with our princess and when you left me, that you left knowing how deeply I loved you.
“Forever and always my handsome amazing man.”
Robert had kissed her sleeping children and told them that he loved them before going to the balcony for a cigarette, Daniella told The Daily Record.
You’re Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
She said: “It was just hours before Hollie’s anniversary. I woke up when the kids screamed, ‘Mum, Robert has fallen off the balcony.’
“We all jumped up and ran out of the room into the hallway. Everything that happened next was a blur.”
Tragically, Daniella added that he had been due to start a new job the following week, after not being able to work since the death of baby Hollie.
Daniella launched a GoFundMe to help bring Robert’s body back to the UK – and has already raised almost £10,000.
In the appeal, she described how her fiancé had died after “a long struggle and battling every day with his mental health”.
She said: “As the first anniversary of the loss of our daughter was approaching we wanted to get away to take even the smallest amount of pressure off.
“As a family we booked a break away to Torremolinos, myself Robert and the two kids.
“On the evening of the 3rd of February 2026 Robert very tragically took his life after a long struggle and battling every day with his mental health due to the loss of his daughter.
“I would greatly appreciate any help no matter how small the donation. To try and get the love of my life home and give him the send off he deserves. I’ll love you forever Robert.”
It comes after a 24-year-old British holidaymaker was critically injured after falling from his hotel in Puerto Banus near Marbella on the Costa del Sol.
He was staying in a first-floor room with friends who are said to have been sleeping when he fell last May.
