‘Got to go now’ – Former Tottenham star demands Thomas Frank sacked as manager with Spurs staring relegation in the face

EX-SPURS star Jamie O’Hara has called for Thomas Frank to be sacked after Tottenham’s 2-1 home loss to Newcastle.

The club sit just five points above the relegation zone with a minus one goal difference.

A late Benjamin Sesko goal saved them from the gap being just three points, but the worrying signs lie in the performance just as much as the results.

Frank’s men looked bereft of any belief or ideas in the first half against Newcastle and while they improved after the break, they got just what they deserved from the game – nothing.

O’Hara took to social media immediately after the result to vent his frustrations.

“HES GOT TO GO NOW!!!!! We are going down with this manager.”

Spurs have not won in eight Premier League games, their longest winless run in 18 years.

Speaking after the game, Frank insisted he believes he will remain the Spurs boss and face Arsenal on February 22.

“Yeah. I am convinced I will be. I understand the question.

“It is easy to point on me but it is never only the head coach, ownership, players or staff. It is everyone.

“Everyone knows what position we are in and what we need to improve on. That is what we are working hard on.”

Frank was also booed off by Tottenham fans after the Newcastle result.

The only half excuse for their form lies in their long list of absentees.

Captain Cristian Romero was suspended for the clash with Newcastle and Wilson Odobert went off injured to add to the neverending casualty list.

Spurs have 12 first-team players on the shelf at the moment, by far and away the biggest injury list in the Premier League right now. Chelsea are the next worst-off with eight players missing.

Missing names like James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski are bound to hurt them going forward.

But the results are hard to deny and it isn’t going to get any easier for Frank and his team.

Arsenal visit them next in the north London derby and an away trip to Liverpool awaits three games later following two more London derbies with Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Frank has now won just seven of his 26 Premier League matches in charge. That’s a win rate of 26.9 per cent.

That figure represents the lowest win percentage of any Spurs manager to have taken charge of more than ten matches in the top-flight.
