Fury as British kitchen brand goes bust owing £2MILLION to customers, workers & HMRC

CUSTOMERS have been left angry and broke after a kitchen company went bust overnight.

The brand owes a combined total of £2 million to the public, their employees and HMRC.

The company was based on Tetbury road, CirencesterCredit: Unknown

Parlour Farm Kitchen was installing kitchens for over 20 years before going bust.

The Cirencester-based store filed for voluntary winding up at the end of January, leaving customers out of pocket.

The store primarily sold kitchens, cabinets and other furniture for Brits looking to decorate.

They were self-described online as a “designer and manufacturer of beautiful, truly bespoke kitchens”.

One client told the Standard she had been left nearly £20,000 out of pocket from the ordeal.

Another angry customer told Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard she was owed £19,000 for an unfulfilled delivery.

She said: “I later spoke to a solicitor and they said because the company is liquidated, this case will have no legs.”

It now appears that the owners have reappeared under a phoenix company named Parlour Farm Kitchens & Cabinet Makers Ltd.

Phoenixing is a practice where a failed business can rebrand under a new name and absolve any previous debt while retaining the same stock and staff.
