Furious fans slam major Championship broadcast change as crunch game moved to nightmare start time

CHAMPIONSHIP football fans are fuming after a broadcast change moved the date and time of a crunch promotion match.

Middlesbrough‘s clash with Ipswich had been due to take place on April 18, but has now been selected for broadcast on Sky Sports.

As a result, the game will now be played out on April 19 at midday.

There are currently just two points separating those teams, with Boro in second and Ipswich in third.

That means fans naturally want to boost their team as much as possible.

But fans planning to travel to Portman Road have complained about the early get-up they will now need.

The TV change also means that Boro’s fixture against Sheffield Wednesday has also been moved by 24 hours.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, 21 April, it will now – fittingly – be played on Wednesday, 22 April.

Ipswich have also seen additional changes in their schedule.

The Tractor Boys’ game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park will kick off 15 minutes later, now starting at 8pm.

Kieran McKenna‘s side will also be on TV for their away trip to Southampton, now commencing on April 28 after it was postponed from Good Friday.
