TOTTENHAM academy graduate Josh Oluwayemi suffered an embarrassing howler as he scored a shocking own-goal.
Oluwayemi, 24, has been playing for Kiwi outfit Wellington Phoenix since August 2024 – two years after his departure from Spurs.
The goalkeeper started for the A-League outfit on Friday’s league match against Auckland FC.
And disaster struck at Wellington Regional Stadium on 24 minutes when the visitors opened the scoring in the most extraordinary of circumstances.
Auckland defender Jake Girdwood-Reich cleared the ball from almost his own penalty box and sent it towards Oluwayemi, who had all the space in the world to easily gain possession.
But the keeper was way off his lines and instead decided to try and head the ball away.

However, the former Tottenham youth star completely miscalculated the situation and ended up heading the ball back to his own net.
The commentators gasped in disbelief while the live crowd – including both sets of players – watched in shock.
The away fans went on to celebrate while the home audience watched in frustration – while some described it as the own-goal of the year.
Things got worse for the Nix as they went on to suffer a heavy 5-0 loss at home.

Jesse Randall doubled Auckland’s lead just six minutes later to add to Oluwayemi’s woes.
The Phoenix then suffered a complete collapse as Guillermo May made it three four minutes before half-time and Randall completed a brace in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
And Lachlan Brook completed the visitors’ triumph after 74 minutes.
Oluwayemi joined Tottenham in 2011 at the tender age of 10 and spent nine years within the youth ranks.
The shot-stopper was promoted to the senior squad in 2020, which is when he was sent out on a short loan to Maidenhead United.
Spurs then let the ex-England youth international go in 2022 as he moved to Portsmouth, who also loaned him out to Chelmsford City a year later.
Oluwayemi left the Pompey in 2024 and moved to Finland for Lahti before making the big trip to New Zealand for Wellington where he has amassed a total of 31 appearances.
