CRISTIANO RONALDO has left Saudi Arabia and returned to Spain after his injury was worse than first feared.
The Manchester United and Real Madrid hero sparked fears he could be denied a record SIXTH World Cup tournament after hobbling off in the Saudi Pro League.

The Portugal superstar, 41, picked up a muscle injury during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 win over Al-Feyha.
In the 80th minute of the game, he signalled to the bench to come off and looked in visible discomfort.
He was then spotted with an ice pack on the back of his knee as he took his spot on the bench.
Now, it has been confirmed the injury is more serious than first anticipated after test results.

He will now head for Madrid to seek treatment from his personal therapist.
Providing an update on his star man, boss Jorge Jesus stated: “After tests, we see the injury suffered by Cristiano Ronaldo was more serious than expected.
“Cristiano will now travel to Spain, like other players who went for treatment when they were injured.
“His injury required treatment in Madrid with his personal therapist, and we hope he returns quickly and helps the team”.

Ronaldo is enjoying a stunning season to date with 21 league goals from 22 outings.
He has 22 strikes in all competitions at club level and will praying his injury isn’t anything too serious that will rule him out of the World Cup finals with Portugal.
It is expected to be his last-ever apperance at the biggest show in football with the tournament just three months away.
Al-Nassr currently lead the Saudi Pro League by two points as they aim for title glory.
