DERBY COUNTY star Sammie Szmodics appeared to be knocked out just one minute after coming on for Ireland in their World Cup play-off clash against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The midfielder was brought into the action as a sub in the 120th minute with the scores at 2-2 and penalties looming.
He replaced ex-Chelsea star Harvey Vale but immediately drew concern from fans after going up for a header.
But Szmodics was bodychecked by his rival and landed awkwardly as he fell to the turf.
Ireland’s medical team rushed onto the pitch to care for the stricken star, who appeared to be unconscious for a moment.
