Champions League last 16 CONFIRMED with Chelsea and Man City facing nightmare clashes but Arsenal set for easier tie

The dramatic play-off round eliminated eight more clubs, including Inter Milan and Juventus.

But the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain – as well as Prem hopefuls Newcastle – successfully navigated their way through.

Having finished top of the league phase, Arsenal are set for a presentable-looking last 16 tie.

Mikel Arteta‘s side will draw either Atalanta or Bayer Leverkusen, following the Italian side’s dramatic comeback win against Borussia Dortmund and the Germans’ victory over Olympiacos.

Other English sides are set for less encouraging tasks.

Having easily navigated their way past Qarabag, Newcastle will draw either Chelsea or Barcelona in the round of 16.

Should they avoid the Toon, Chelsea would get reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Both Tottenham and Liverpool will face either Atletico Madrid or Galatasaray in the next phase.
