A BRITISH star has gobsmacked his fellow competitors Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothee Chalamet as he claimed the BAFTA for Best Actor.
Just moments after he won the Rising Star award, Robert Aramayo, 33, was floored as he bagged the main acting honour too.
As he found out the incredible news, his jaw dropped and his hand flew to his mouth as he was hugged and congratulated by those sat around him.
The evening soon took an emotional turn as his proud mum and dad burst into tears, kissing Robert’s cheeks.
Leonardo, 51, clapped for the star as he leapt up onto the stage and Timothee, 30, grinned from ear-to-ear.
Robert said during his acceptance speech: “I honestly cannot believe that I have won this award.

“Everyone in this category blows me away. When I was in school, Ethan Hawke came in to speak to us in Julliard and he gave an amazing talk on longevity as an actor, about protecting your instrument and avoiding self-destructive behaviours, and it had a great impact on everyone in the room.”
He added: “So to be in this category with you tonight is incredible. Thank you, Ethan.”
Robert, from Hull, won the award for his performance in I Swear, which tells the real-life story of Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson.
The film newcomer, is best known for his role as Eddard Stark in the six series of the HBO series Game of Thrones.
Robert has also starred in the Netflix psychological thriller miniseries, Behind Her Eyes.
He played the main character Rob Hoyle, who was checked into a psych ward after an unhappy and poverty-stricken childhood.
Irish actress Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress for her performance in the Shakespeare biopic Hamnet.
Jessie starred as Agnes Shakespeare, the wife of William Shakespeare.
Meanwhile, Paul Thomas Anderson’s comedy-thriller One Battle After Another, starring DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti and Sean Penn bagged the most BAFTAs of the night.
The film picked up a massive six BAFTAs including best film, best director, and supporting actor for Sean.
One Battle After Another follows Bob, a washed up revolutionary, who’s surviving off-grid with his wild card daughter Willa.
But, when his evil nemesis resurfaces and Willa is missing Bob scrambles to find her.
