THE best British beer to enjoy in the winter has been revealed.
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) held a competition to crown the Champion Winter Beer of Britain – and the winner was London Brewing’s Beer Street bitter.
Beer Street is an amber bitter with rye and rich toffee and biscuit flavours.
Judging panel coordinator Christine Cryne commented on the beer’s “spicy rye notes and slightly bitter finish” and said it was “very easy drinking”.
It’s priced at £3.99 per can on Beers of Europe.
London Brewing Co. started as a micro brewpub in Highgate, London, in 2011.

It’s now got a warehouse-sized pub called the Bohemia and sells both keg and cask beers.
CAMRA crowned its Winter Beer winner at the Liverpool Beer Festival on Thursday.
Cairngorm’s session stout Black Gold took home silver, while Green Jack’s Baltic Trader Export Stout won bronze.
Each of the entrants in the competition had to be nominated by beer lovers or expert tasting panels.
Local and regional blind judging heats had been held over the past year.
Now it has won the category of Champion Winter Beer, Beer Street will be put forward amongst winners from other categories to battle for the crown of Supreme Champion 2026.
