An unconvincing period for Liverpool was emphatically ended in midweek with a more-than-convincing demolition of Galatasaray.
Arne Slot’s side were utterly dominant in overturning their first leg deficit to dump the Turkish giants out and reach the last-eight of the Champions League.
Back in that competition is where they want to be next season but face a real fight for that spot given their league form.
Their last two league outings saw them record dismal draw at home to Spurs, which followed a defeat to toilers Wolves.
They go into the weekend in fifth place, two points off Aston Villa in fourth and a point clear of Chelsea in sixth.
Brighton will still have their eyes on European football too, sitting in 12th spot but on 40 points, with just five points to Brentford in seventh.
The Seagulls were thumped by Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup in March but have won three of their four games since, with their only defeat coming when dominant but losing 1-0 to Arsenal.
They’ve picked up 24 points from a possible 45 at home, with Liverpool taking 21 points on their travels from the same 45 available.

While the Seagulls have drawn four of their last eight games at home in all competitions.
