BOYS should be allowed to wear skirts at school to let them explore their gender, the Education Secretary said yesterday.
Bridget Phillipson claimed letting them “experiment” could reduce numbers undergoing surgery later.
Earlier this month, she published guidance for teachers saying in rare circumstances “social transitioning” could be allowed for kids as young as four.
Asked yesterday on LBC radio if boys could therefore dress as girls, Ms Phillipson said: “You know, children will experiment at different points.
“Just taking a watchful approach actually reduces what we see in terms of children moving towards a more medicalised model.”
But Reform UK’s education spokeswoman Suella Braverman said: “Parents just want schools to be a place of learning rather than indoctrination.”

Tory Laura Trott added: “Children as young as five should not be socially transitioning.
“This is wrong.”
And campaign group the Family Education Trust insisted: “Adults shouldn’t be affirming delusional behaviour.
“Not only does it harm the child in question, but also their peers who are forced to go along with it.”
