Body of girl, 15, pulled from sea in Brit tourist hotspot after mum reported her missing on family holiday

THE body of 15-year-old tourist has been found at a British holiday hotspot after the girl’s heartbroken mum reported her missing.

Cops in the Canary Islands are investigating the tragedy following the grim discovery at the mouth of a marina in Puerto Rico, in the south-west of Gran Canaria.

The Norwegian teen was discovered floating in the sea at around 9am this morning after she vanished from a family holiday.

Her devastated mum alerted police after waking up and discovering that she was not at their rental apartment in an area called Barranco Agua La Perra very near to Puerto Rico.

Detectives probing the death say that they are open to “all theories”.

The girl was found around 200 metres from the coast and a rocky cove called Balito beach after several witnesses alerted emergency services.

Coastguard officials then brought the body to dry land.

The Civil Guard is leading an ongoing investigation and a post-mortem is due to take place in the coming hours.
