ARGOS is introducing a fresh shopping experience next year, promising customers more choice under its major revamp plans.
The retail giant is planning a big shake-up designed to offer shoppers more choice and take on some of the biggest names in online shopping.
Reports suggest the new platform could be up and running within the next 12 months.
The marketplace is expected to launch with a carefully selected group of partners, offering products that complement Argos’ existing range and give shoppers even more choice.
A marketplace is a platform – either online or in-store – where third-party sellers can offer their products directly to customers.
Well-known examples include Amazon, eBay and Etsy, which host thousands of independent brands alongside their own stock.

The move is also expected to optimise Argos’ tech and supply chain, helping streamline orders and deliveries.
And it comes as Argos already claims to run the UK’s third most-visited retail website, according to parent company Sainsbury’s.
In 2024, Sainsbury’s unveiled a three-year strategy focused on building on Argos’ strengths.
The plan centres on boosting convenience and value, while expanding product ranges to drive more spending.
Sainsbury’s snapped up Argos in 2016 in a deal worth more than £1billion – and it’s now the UK’s second-largest general merchandise retailer, behind only Tesco.
Director Graham Biggart said: “Introducing a marketplace within the next year marks an exciting next step in Argos’ multiyear transformation.
“It reflects what we know customers want – more choice, more convenience and more reasons to shop with confidence.
“With over one billion visits to our website each year and a brand built on value, trust and quality, we see a real opportunity to offer an even wider range of products that complement our core ranges and the highly valued suppliers we work with today.”
