Ana de Armas gets close to hunky venture capitalist in LA after ‘uncomfortable’ split from Tom Cruise

Ana de Armas looked as if she was moving on from her latest difficult breakup when she was spotted out with a new man on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old beauty was pictured out in Los Angeles in photos obtained by the Daily Mail from a shopping trip she took with a hunky man at her side.

The dark haired figure was Marcelo Valente, who is a partner at the venture capital firm Babel Venture, according to TMZ.

Ana seems to be moving on from her relationship with Tom Cruise, 63, which was reported to have come to an ‘uncomfortable’ end last month, though neither party has confirmed the split.

Although Ana shared some sweet smiles with Marcelo, the status of their potential relationship wasn’t clear from the outing.

The Daily Mail has contacted reps for the actress to request comment but hasn’t yet heard back.

According to his Babel bio, Marcelo is also the founder of the LA-based company Shepherd, which ‘bridg[es] the worlds of entertainment and technology.’ 

He boasts of working with high-profile musicians and actors in his current role.

Prior to moving to LA to attend UCLA, Marcello hailed from Brazil. 

Although Ana and Marcelo didn’t get too handsy, he was spotted touching her arm at one point as she chatted while walking her adorable dog. 

Ana otherwise kept her distance, but she was spotted flashing a big grin while gazing at the businessman on their walk.

The two appeared to be preparing for some interior designing, as they dropped by a home decor store in LA, where they reportedly checked out wallpapers.

Ana looked cool and casual in a double denim look featuring a light-blue denim jacket with a suede collar and a plaid flannel lining.

She paired it with baggy jeans held up with a white belt featuring a gold buckle, and she wore a simple white V-neck T-shirt tucked into her pants.

The Blade Runner 2049 star completed her outfit with white-and-gray trainers and chunky black sunglasses that were framed by her long brunette hair.

Marcelo favored a sportier look with a white windbreaker, navy athletic shorts, a dark shirt and gray-and-black athletic shorts.

At one point, he took a phone call while strolling with Ana, who had her dog on a leash and carried a shopping bag. 

After taking care of their shopping, the two appeared to stop to chat before driving away. 

Marcelo stripped out of his jacket and took the wheel of a sporty charcoal Land Rover Defender, with Ana occupying the passenger seat and her dog sitting in the back. 

The actress’ outing on Tuesday wasn’t the first time she and Marcelo have been spotted together. 

Last month, Ana posted video to her Instagram Stories of herself dancing with Marcelo in the audience for a Dua Lipa concert at LA’s Kia Forum. 

Although the two seemed to be having a great time, she didn’t share any details about their connection. 

She has been spending time with Marcelo in the wake of her break-up from Tom Cruise. 

After the reported split, sources claimed to Us Weekly that the brunette bombshell felt the romance was too intense and moving too quickly, which made her ‘uncomfortable.’ 

However, de Armas and Cruise are reportedly remaining friends and colleagues.

According to People, they will work on the movie Deeper in London and Malta once its budget is approved.

The deep-sea diving adventure film has been delayed due to budgetary concerns, which threw off the stars, as they had already started preparing for the project. 

De Armas has been a bit down after she moved on from Cruise, a source has told Daily Mail.

‘Ana thought this year would be very different so she is disappointed,’ a source told Daily Mail. 

‘But she knows it will get better and is plugging on. And she is still friends with Tom. She is not crying at home,’ they added.

Cruise and De Armas — or Cramas as fans called them — quietly split several weeks ago after nine months together.

A source close to the pair told The Sun said: ‘Tom and Ana had a good time together but their time as a couple has run its course.

‘They are going to remain good friends but they aren’t dating anymore. They just realized they weren’t going to go the distance and that they are better off as mates.

‘The spark had gone between them but they still love each other’s company and they’ve both been really adult about it. She’s already been cast in his next film, so they will continue to work together.’

Tom and Ana were last publicly seen together months earlier in July as the pair went official with their budding romance. 

At the time, the two stars were seen holding hands as they whisked themselves on a weekend getaway to Woodstock, Vermont.

They were spotted strolling through the scenic town together, after first sparking relationship speculation earlier this year in February.

Shortly before the Vermont trip, both stars were also seen attending the Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium. 

That same month, Tom and Ana also enjoyed a boat day while on a getaway to Menorca, Spain. 

‘Tom has been showering Ana with gifts ever since they met, it’s his thing, he is thoughtful,’ a source exclusively told the Daily Mail in July. 

‘First it started with her favorite flowers then books he thought she would want to read because she’s an avid reader.’

The insider added, ‘The more they got to know each other, the bigger the gifts became. There has been jewelry like gold bracelets and designer clothing, things like that, things every girl would love.

‘Probably the biggest gift he has given her is being able to go anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice, not many people can do that. She loves to travel.’

The Hollywood stars first ignited romance rumors when they were spotted grabbing dinner in London just before Valentine’s Day.

The pair were seen on more than one occasion in the following months, such as Ana and Tom dining at a restaurant in London.

In May, they attended David Beckham’s 50th birthday bash which was held in Notting Hill and left in the same vehicle together.

However, a guest who had also been in attendance at the time told Page Six that Ana and Tom’s relationship appeared to be platonic.

The insider explained that Tom and Ana ‘came together and had a great night and clearly enjoy hanging out’.

However, they added, ‘But I couldn’t say any more than that… I’ve no proof it’s romantic.’

In September, the actress was seen partying with rapper Bad Bunny during a trip to Puerto Rico. At the time, the beauty filmed herself dancing to his hit song NUEVAYoL while at the music artist’s concert. 

And last month, Ana was also seen posing with a mystery man during Paris Fashion Week. While exploring the French city, the star posed for a lighthearted Instagram snap with two pals as they spent time outdoors.
